Well, the deadline for me making a decision is up and the plan is to…

keep the site going.

I’m not going to be back on-line immediately - probably in the next 2-3 weeks - but we will be back.  I haven’t decided yet if any changes will be made - it’s possible I will decide to update twice a week on particular days, or I may have some caption competitions going, and some very kind people have offered support, so I will see if I can use their kindness (and not abuse it!) but yes, over the coming weeks lolrats will go live again! 

Thanks everyone for their support.  Sadly Pocket died two weeks ago but it’s lovely to know he made so many fans.  So now, all that remains is for me to say - start submitting your lols!

For the last few weeks I’ve been thinking about the future of the lolrats site.  You may have noticed that I haven’t posted so much lately and there are reasons for this.  Whilst I still have a lot of photos to use, kindly donated by many visitors to this site, the vast majority are uncaptioned and it does take a lot of time for me to think up something to lol them with.  Not that I’m ungrateful.  On the contrary, if it wasn’t for the fantastic contributions from you, captioned and uncaptioned, then lolrats most definitely would have died many months ago.  As it happens, we recently celebrated our first birthday - an occasion that went unmarked by me on the pure basis that at the moment I have very little time or energy.

The fact is at the moment I am exhausted.  Running lolrats does take up time and what with having a busy job, a fiance, a home to (jointly) run and a family of rats to care for - some of which aren’t in great health at the moment - has left me looking at ways to claw back some extra free time.  Therefore I have decided to take a break from lolrats for a time.  June is going to be a busy month anyway and I don’t think I can keep going with something which requires a regular commitment from me.

I hope the break from the site is temporary, although there is a chance that I might never return to it.  It would be sad if that happened but right now I want to see how it goes.  I plan to have a month’s break and then decide on July 1st whether I am going to keep the site going, call an end to it or extend my thinking time.  So I don’t think there will be any more posts until then.  Please do come back to the site at the beginning of July as chances are I will keep it going.  But we will have to see.

So until then, please do keep emailing me your contributions (captioned or not), enjoy the bumper crop I’ve just posted and please, bear with me.  I will still be updating the ratblog and my main site.  And Pocket sends whiffles to you all.
